May is here, which means the school year is quickly drawing to a close. With that brings lots of fun and exciting events. But before we can hit the cruise control there is plenty to be done! First, next week starts the NJASK testing for grade three. 3Mat has been working diligently to prepare for the test. During the week of testing the students will not have a snack break so it’s very important that your child eats a full breakfast each morning before school. The month ends with an extended break due to unused snow days. Enjoy the long weekend to celebrate Memorial Day! After testing in language arts, we will finish up our reading series with unit 6. Unit 6 explores the meaning of freedom through the stories of Two Bad Ants and The Story of the Statue of Liberty. The theme of freedom is also being explored in social studies. As we’ve just wrapped up how our nation declared its independence, we will now be exploring how the country became what it is today. In math, we are finishing up geometry and probability. In science, we will be exploring the life cycles of a butterfly. Enjoy the lovely spring weather, the beautiful flowers and the much deserved extended break. Sincerely, Mrs. Matvienko

“There is no use trying, said Alice; one can’t believe impossible things.”“I dare say you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”- Lewis Carroll 3MAT Adopts ???????
