Welcome to ELL/ESL Class
The English as a Second Language Program for the Lyndhurst School District is for non-native speakers of English who have demonstrated limited proficiency in this language. These students are from any background. The program teaches students to communicate in English and stresses the development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The overall objective is for students to be able to understand and use English in the regular school curriculum. The program is taught in English. The main goals of the ESL program for the English Language Learner are to strengthen English skills, function in mainstream classes and become confident and comfortable in new surroundings.
